Leddy Park

Unfortunately CRT had not been informed that we were required to bring a toddler to public skating at Leddy Park this afternoon, but luckily we were still allowed in. (To be honest, I don't think it was a rule, but we did still feel quite outnumbered by the amount of five-year-olds.) Most of kids who were there "learning to skate" were still able to do circles around us, but nevertheless we CRT members were still able to get some exercise, figure out how to skate backwards, and just hang out together.
The skating rink outside of Spinner is also frozen finally. There's no rentals over there though. If anyone has their own skates, I'll join!

Surviving the Cold and Keeping in Shape this Winter

January and February are tough times to be a runner in Burlington. The icy sidewalks look less tempting than ever, and it's impossible to decide whether to dress warm and overheat halfway through the run, or under dress and freeze for the first half. Luckily for us, CRT is offering some refuge this winter by offering some cross-training alternatives.
As a team, we've been planning some activities that can help avoid the dread of keeing in shape this season. Geocaching, skating, rock climbing, and working out in the gym are all on the agenda for the spring, aside from our regular runs. Come to our monthly meetings to stay up-to-date with events, and look for more information on our Facebook group, Twitter, and Daily Mile.

Yoga

Just got back from yoga. It was my first class ever, so I went in being less than an expert on yoga moves, etc. But now that I am back I feel:
1. Super flexible
2. Weirdly energized and sleepy at the same time. In a good way.
3. Much less sweaty than I was 20 minutes ago.
4. Proud of self for surviving/not making a total fool of myself during the lengthy yoga sesh.

It was definitely a challenge -- especially since I struggle with diferentiating my left and right -- but I feel refreshed now that I've done it!
